Tim Belden

Tim Belden is a member of Collective 54 and the co-founder of Energy GPS, a market analytics firm serving the electricity and natural gas industries. A long-time specialist in those markets, Tim built the firm with his business partner Jeff Richter around two lines of business: a subscription analytics product for short-term traders and a consulting practice advising clients on longer-term supply, demand, and valuations. Tim is in the middle of his own exit process, and he joined Greg Alexander on the Pro Serv Podcast to walk through how he assembled the team around that deal — starting with hiring his transaction attorney before his investment banker. He shared his framework for choosing an M&A attorney, and the real lessons of making those calls while the process is still underway.
